Restoration and Transformation

Happy New Year Family,

This my Year of Restoration and Transformation!!

I know from the title you may be thinking that this is an oxymoron. When you think of restoration you think of going back to an original state and when you think of transformation you think of changing from the original state. But give me a minute and I will explain. By definition restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. There are areas of my life that need restoring. Over the past few years myself, like many of you, have experience many disappointments and hurts. However life kept going on, along with those people who hurt me and so I kept going on too. I didn’t realize that I was damaged goods. I have always known that you must have tough skin to survive and be willing to adapt to you surrounding. But I never took the time to allow these hurts to be mended. I knew I couldn’t let anything detour my from my path so I just kept walking with a load of emotional baggage attached to my side. I experienced moments of low self-esteem, arrogance,  feelings of jealousy and envy the list goes on. Not one of these things is Christ-like.

By definition transformation is a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance. The transformation that will occur (yes, I speaking it with the words of my mouth) in my life will be a result of allowing the heavenly Father to restore me. Oh my, if you know Rachael, then you know not only the word of my mouth but my thoughts are deadly. And the reality is that when in state of hurt/pain my thoughts, which then manifest as my truth about a situation, will run wild. I have completed a renewing of your mind prayers and fast throughout the past few years, and I find that this is a continuous process for me.

I know that this will be a challenge for me for many reasons. So the following are the steps that I feel led to follow in order to effectively experience a year of restoration and transformation:
1.)    I will need to acknowledge the hurt/disappointment.
2.)    I will need to take responsibility for my role in the situation.
3.)    I will need to forgive and pray for my offenders.
4.)    I will need to forgive and pray for myself.
5.)    I need to let it go (forget the former thing and press forward).
6.)    I need to focus on the bigger picture (living for Christ).
7.)    Accept what is, and what God allows for He is perfect in ALL of His ways.

I hope that this not only serves as a means to hold myself accountable but also helps you to take a step back and set goals this year that will heal you emotional, mentally and spiritually.

Love Always,

Rachael

1 Year Blogiversay & Giveaway

Hi All,

Welcome back to my blog page Inspired Lifestyle. So as you can tell, it has been 1 year since the conception of my beloved blog page. Throughout this past year I have not only experienced but learned so much about people and myself. I am forever grateful for every experience to grow and become a better, wiser and stronger. I can truly say that at the beginning of this journey I was very fearful that many wouldn’t accept my “outward” profession of Christ as well as support my vision to inspire others in every aspect of their lives, beyond the walls of the church. Today, i am glad that I embraced the vision and hope to continue to inspire not only others but myself as well.

I thank you for your support and appreciate the love. I only hope that tomorrow I will be even better with the guidance of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

Giveaway Rules: Ends 11/7/16.

I Loss 27 lbs!!

Hi All,

Before I give my schpeel on how I loss the 27 pounds, I want to say that YOU CAN do this!  It is going to be hard, you are going to want to give up at some point, you may give up and start again but, if you want to live a long and healthy life, it is worth it! When I began this journey in March 2015 I had many failed attempts. Due to weather and working conditions I was not as consist as I should have been. Therefore I plateaued a few times for weeks at a time, but I knew that it was really important that I lose the weight for many reasons.

 How to be successful!!

  1. Set realistic goals. It is possible to lose a large amount of weight using extreme diets and exercise programs over a short period of time. But for myself I have realized that after the diet is over the weight gain happens. I think this is because my focus is on eating or exercising for a short period of time and then I return back to eating unhealthy foods, binge eating and no exercising. The key to long term weight loss is consistency; having consistent eating habits. I love bread and sweets (etc…pies and cakes) but I recognize that I can’t eat these types of food on a daily or weekly basis. So set realistic goals eat to bread but not every day, and choose healthy bread options.
  1. Choose to be happy by having the right motivation. Don’t view this new “lifestyle” of eating healthy and exercising as a punishment. Believe me, in the end it will be worth it. But if you lose the weight for the wrong reasons you won’t stick with it simply because you have no expected outcome or benefit.
  1. Make gradual changes to your diet to eat healthier. I do not suggest a cold cut diet. Meaning you cut out everything in one day. Usually that works for a short period of time. But eventually it becomes mundane and exhausting. First cut out bad drinks, they maybe high in sugar content and then progressively cut out other unhealthy habits.
  1. Workout consistently. You may choose to work out twice a week or 4 times a week. Whatever it is be consistent. During the course of your workout plan you may need to switch up your type of work outs so that you don’t plateau, like I did. Or you may need to increase your work out time to maintain the weight loss. So don’t get stuck on a routine exercise program that does not progressively push you harder as the weeks go on unless you weight loss potentially will decrease drastically.

Hi All,

Welcome back to Inspired Lifestyle. Today I decided to “tryout ” a few drugstore lipsticks for an everyday look. *Disclaimer* I know we dont all wear different forms of make-up based upon your personal preferences so feel free to watch last week’s video on Overcoming Frustration.

Don’t forget to comment below which option you like best. After recording I actually like lipstick number 1 and number 3 (while filming it didn’t show up as well).

Hope y’all enjoy this video!!
